The Nye County Water District Governing Board voted unanimously on Oct. 14 to approve payment of the district’s annual membership assessment to the Central Nevada Regional Water Authority for fiscal year 2026.
The item was presented as routine staff recommendation. The assessment amount is $7,500. Staff noted the regional authority represents eight central Nevada counties and provides legislative tracking and coordination on water policy.
Bruce Holden moved to approve the payment; Ernie Jackson seconded. The motion carried 5-0 with one member not present.
Why it matters: Membership in the Central Nevada Regional Water Authority provides the district representation on regional policy and legislative matters that affect water planning and funding across multiple counties. The board characterized the assessment as a mission‑critical investment in regional coordination.
