Washington County coordinating committee backs amended TDT project list for county commissioners

Diami Valentine, transportation planning section manager in Washington County Land Use and Transportation, presented a proposed amendment package to the county—s Transportation Development Tax (TDT) project list and asked the committee to recommend the changes to the Board of Commissioners.

Valentine said the packet included 51 proposed amendments to the road project list from Washington County and the cities of Banks, Portland and Tualatin and added 12 new projects to the transit project list. "The packet includes the the full list, with those amendments, which include, 51 proposed amendments to the road project list," Valentine said, and noted the WCCC technical advisory committee had recommended approval at its Oct. 2 meeting.

The committee moved and approved a recommendation forwarding the amended TDT project list to the Washington County Board of Commissioners; Mayor Winslow made the motion and Mayor Kirk seconded. Committee members voiced no substantive questions during the motion vote.

Why it matters: The TDT project list guides which transportation projects are funded by developer-contributed TDT revenues. Amending the list can change which road and transit projects are eligible for TDT funding and the timing of TDT-funded construction.

Process details and next steps Valentine said staff were available to answer questions about specific projects and that the committee—s recommendation will go to the Board of Commissioners for final consideration and adoption.

Ending The committee approved the recommendation unanimously in voice vote and moved the amended TDT project list forward to the County Board.
