Separately, the council approved buying play equipment for Giblin Memorial Park at a net cost of $49,584 after a GameTime community grant reduced the town's share; the full equipment and install package totals about $88,973. The town will take delivery of the equipment in 2025 and store it until installations planned for spring 2026. Director Savigny said equipment and install are within the capital budgeted amount for the project and that certified installers will perform installation in 2026; the council voted 5-0 to approve the purchase.
Councilors asked for clarity on procurement timelines and vendor quotes that had short expiration dates; staff said the quotes were still valid within the procurement window and that the department would track deadlines more closely in future procurements. Council members also pressed GZA to deliver design documents on an accelerated timeline to meet grant and construction windows.
