Pearland ISD board declines to nominate Brazoria County Appraisal Board candidates, names HGAC delegate

At its Oct. 14 meeting the Pearland ISD board voted to take no action on nominating candidates to the Brazoria County Appraisal District board of directors. The motion to submit no nominations carried 6–0 (Trustee Weimer absent).
Separately the board designated Trustee Murphy as the districtrepresentative to the Houston‑Galveston Area Council (HGAC) General Assembly for 2026. The assembly meets Nov. 18; Trustee Murphy accepted the appointment. That motion also passed 6–0 (Trustee Weimer absent).
Both actions were procedural and part of the boardpacket items requiring direction or designation. Trustees and staff discussed the voting mechanics and the schedule for receiving candidate materials prior to the deadline.
