The Kenai Beautification Commission’s regular meeting scheduled for Oct. 14, 2025, at 6 p.m. was canceled after commissioners were unable to reach a quorum, Chair Dossett said.
Commission staff attempted a roll call after the chair called the meeting to order, but the meeting could not proceed when not enough members were present. A staff member told commissioners, "You do not have a quorum." Chair Dossett then said the meeting was "either canceled or adjourned due to lack of quorum." The group did not conduct any formal business.
The cancellation meant commissioners could not legally discuss or vote on agenda items. During the brief exchange about scheduling, Chair Dossett and others agreed staff would follow up to arrange a November meeting; no formal direction or vote was recorded. One participant asked whether an absent member had not RSVP'd or was unable to attend; staff said they would follow up on that.
Because the commission lacked a quorum, there were no motions, votes, or other formal actions taken at the Oct. 14 meeting. The commission’s next meeting date was not finalized on the call; staff said they would contact members to schedule a November meeting.
Notes: The transcript recorded a misspelling of the commission name as "Kienab." The organization name used here is the Kenai Beautification Commission, corrected to standard local usage.
