City leaders provided a series of infrastructure updates during the Oct. 3 Coffee with the Mayor and City Manager meeting.
Jamaica and McCulloch signal: officials said work is underway on a new traffic signal at Jamaica and McCulloch. The Arizona Department of Transportation is the project manager; city staff said ADOT indicates a December completion date. City staff noted some curb‑work and ADA adjustments remain to be completed.
Jamaica mill‑and‑fill and Acoma water mains: staff said a mill‑and‑fill road resurfacing project is planned on Jamaica (section noted near Saddleback to the curve off Lake Havasu Avenue). In advance of resurfacing, the city will perform water main replacements on Acoma in phased segments, with work continuing into April of the next year, staff said. The replacements are intended to avoid ripping up new pavement after road repairs are completed.
Site 6 fishing dock replacement: staff said grant funds secured with the assistance of former Mohave County Supervisor Buster Johnson will fund a replacement fishing dock at Site 6. The contractor will remove the existing dock and install a new dock; work is scheduled to start Oct. 6 and will require a crane and about a 10‑day ramp closure while work is staged, staff said.
Construction impacts and public notice: staff asked for public patience, warned of temporary closures and staged work, and said the city will notify regular users of the Site 6 ramp and provide message‑board dates for the closure.
