Village approves $143,306.39 furniture purchase for new public works facility

The North Aurora Village Board on Oct. 6 approved purchasing furniture for the new public works facility, awarding the project to Affordable Office Interiors for $143,306.39. The village had budgeted $250,000 for the purchase.
Brian, presenting the item, said Williams Architect worked with staff to prepare the bid package. "When the bids came back, the low bidder had a discrepancy on their line item. After Williams reached out to them, they amended the price of their line item which still made them the lowest bidder," Brian said. Staff recommended awarding to Affordable Office Interiors based on the corrected bid.
Trustees asked whether the images in the meeting packet reflected the final colors and styles; staff indicated some images showed true colors while others illustrated style. The board approved the purchase unanimously.
The action moves forward furnishings for the new public works facility; staff did not provide an installation timeline during the meeting.
