Urbana Housing Authority staff told the board the agency issued a request for letters of interest seeking partner organizations to administer emergency housing funds authorized in the MTW plan. Staff said the authority allocated up to $1,000,000 for emergency housing, sheltering and hoteling, and expects to select three to five organizations; the deadline for letters of interest is Aug. 31.
Staff also provided an August support-services summary: nine households assisted; three households received security-deposit assistance; one received application-fee assistance; three received utility-assistance totaling $17.65; one received furniture assistance; one received a bus pass; and two received emergency hotel stays. The recorded total for August support services was $8,566.
Staff said the authority will evaluate letters of interest and work to expend the funds through selected partner organizations. The board did not take separate formal action on the RFP during the meeting; staff described the RFP as part of the previously approved MTW plan.
