Holly (recreation staff) presented the city’s planned public donation campaign for the Eagle Regional Athletic Park and previewed a campaign website and donor recognition tiers.
Holly said the city will accept donations of all sizes, including naming opportunities and in‑kind contributions, and recognize donors through plaques incorporated into a legacy art piece at the park. The official campaign launch date is Jan. 1, 2026; the campaign will be phased and staff plan to present a selected construction manager to council at the last meeting in October to refine costs for phase 1.
Holly told council the total park cost is approximately $22,000,000 to $27,000,000 and that a donation acknowledgement letter will be issued to donors; in response to a question she confirmed donations will be tax deductible and donors will receive an automated tax acknowledgement once funding is received.
Why it matters: the campaign aims to raise private contributions to reduce the city’s funding burden for a large regional athletic park project while offering donor recognition and naming opportunities.
