The commission first approved the minutes of a special meeting of March 17, 2025, and then voted to approve the Sip and Shop license. The roll call shows Mayor Coos and commissioners Preston, Lorenz, Byers, Roberge, Smith and McCarthy voting in favor; the motion passed.
Commission staff then summarized the results of recent compliance checks conducted in coordination with the state police to verify enforcement of under‑21 ID checks. The commission recorded the following fines and payment status as reported: JD HQ Hotels d/b/a Bloomington Normal Marriott — second offense, $500 (paid); Highland Management Group d/b/a Diamonds at 616 West Rab Road — first offense, $250 (paid); Cardinal Restaurant Group d/b/a Debbie's at 1608 Northbrook Drive — first offense, $250 (paid); Bridal Bomb Hotel Groups d/b/a Clariont Point at 6 Trader Circle — first offense, $250 (paid); Heaters Development Company LLC d/b/a Heaters Hot Chicken at 100 South Fell — second offense, $500 (paid); and Hacienda Leon 2 d/b/a Hacienda Leon — third offense, $1,000 (paid).
No council members asked questions about the reported fines before the commission moved to adjourn.
The Liquor Commission adjourned after roll call.
