Council grants Dante's Kitchen liquor-license transfer on 30-day conditional basis

Applicants Gina and Mehul Mehta appeared and were sworn in; Town Clerk Lee Carney reviewed the application and said the package was complete except for final approvals from the building inspector, a Department of Health inspection (scheduled for the next day), the Secretary of State retail sales tax permit, and clearance by the Division of Taxation. Carney told the council the seating capacity is approved at a 48 maximum (typically 36 inside, and 8–12 outside seasonally) and the restaurant is grandfathered with no parking requirement.
With no public comment, the council approved the transfer on a “granted but not issued” basis for 30 days, subject to full compliance and final sign-off by the town clerk. If the outstanding documents are not submitted within 30 days the clerk will require re-advertising and a new public hearing.
Applicant Mehul Mehta said no operational changes are planned; “everything is staying as is,” including staff and seating; he told the council the Department of Health was scheduled to inspect the next day. The council’s motion carried unanimously.
