Staff explained the committee's composition requirements and said the council must appoint a sufficient number of members for the committee to meet. Vice Mayor Siskind indicated she would continue to serve in the council member seat until an orderly transition could occur; the council discussed reappointing current applicants to ensure there were no gaps in membership.
Council members raised attendance concerns about at least one existing member who had not been regularly attending meetings. Staff said council may remove or replace committee members at its discretion, with a future board action requiring three votes to remove an appointment. Councilmembers asked staff to provide a breakdown showing which applicants fill which required slots on the committee to clarify remaining openings.
The resolution appointing the listed applicants passed 5-0. Staff will notify appointees, provide onboarding materials, and track attendance. Council also noted the committee may be expanded up to 11 members if additional qualified applicants come forward.
