Orland Park board imposes nine-month moratorium on certain business, development and zoning applications

The Village of Orland Park Board of Trustees adopted a nine-month temporary moratorium on the acceptance and approval of specified business licenses, development and zoning applications at its Oct. 6 meeting.

Trustee Lawler moved to adopt a resolution imposing the moratorium; the motion passed on a roll-call vote with five trustees and Mayor Jim Dodge voting in favor and two trustees voting no.

The board recorded these votes: Trustee Lawler—aye; Trustee Leafblad—aye; Trustee Jesse Lawrence—aye; Trustee Healy—no; Trustee Katsenas—no; Trustee Malani—aye; Mayor Jim Dodge—aye.

The resolution’s text was read as a temporary suspension “on the acceptance and approval of certain business licenses, development, and zoning applications in the Village of Orland Park, Illinois” for nine months. Board members did not elaborate on the full scope of the categories affected during the motion discussion on the record; the resolution language is part of the meeting packet and will define which license and application types are covered.
