Finance director reports Wednesday AP run of roughly $147,007; commissioners approve review

Atchison County’s finance director reported to the commission on Oct. 14 that the accounts payable run for Wednesday, Oct. 15, totaled approximately $147,007.32. The finance director said credit card charges in the run totaled $60.25 and that one fund showed a negative cash balance by one cent at the time the report was generated.
The finance director explained the negative balance stemmed from a payment to a truancy officer that was entered for the incorrect amount and has since been voided, which restored the fund to a positive balance. The director said the corrected payment will appear on the next AP run.
Commissioners moved and seconded to accept the finance director’s review. The motion passed by voice vote, 2 to 0 (Commissioners Quinn and Knoll voting yes; Commissioner Campbell absent). The finance director said she would provide the detailed numbers to the clerk as requested.
