Atchison County commissioners voted Oct. 14 to approve a county agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation Bureau of Maintenance to treat noxious weeds and authorized county signatures to execute the agreement.
Road and Bridge staff presented the agreement and said the operator labor rate is $32.33 per hour and the listed equipment rate is $52.82 per hour. The staff presentation named specific equipment in the agreement as a 2016 Ford F-550 spray truck and a 2022 John Deere Gator portable sprayer.
Commissioners asked procedural questions about signature lines and whether the chair should sign; the board confirmed two commissioners present may sign the document. The motion to approve the KDOT Bureau of Maintenance county agreement passed by voice vote, 2 to 0 (Commissioners Quinn and Knoll voting yes; Commissioner Campbell absent).
Staff completed the document-signing steps during the meeting so the county could meet KDOT’s timetable for matching services under the agreement.
