Board accepts $150,000 Criminal Justice Commission grant for behavioral health deflection program

At the Oct. 15 meeting the Crook County Board of Commissioners authorized signatures to accept a $150,000 grant from the Criminal Justice Commission to fund the county’s behavioral health deflection program, which is housed in the sheriff’s community corrections division.
Lieutenant Aaron Boyse presented the award and said the grant amount is the same as the previous award and that this step completes acceptance and signatures; he noted a second part of the award process remains ongoing and should conclude in the next few months.
Commissioners moved, seconded and approved a motion to accept the grant agreement (VHD-27-05) with the Criminal Justice Commission. A commissioner asked whether the grant amount differed from prior years; Boyse said it was unchanged. The board recorded the motion and approved the signature authorization.
