The Rockville Planning Commission on Oct. 14 approved a building permit application for a single-family home at 101 East Main Street submitted by Burton and Anna Sant. Applicants and their representative presented site plans and answered commissioners’ questions about utilities, hydrants and structural changes.
Commissioners confirmed the application packet was complete after staff located missing checklist items that were available later the same day. During review, commissioners noted a gas-line label on the plan; applicants clarified Rockville has no natural gas distribution and the plan’s line would be removed. The commission also discussed that the prior structure’s basement had been removed and compacted to grade, and that the new design would be a one-story home roughly similar in footprint to the prior structure.
After brief discussion and confirmation from town staff that required checklist items were submitted, a commissioner moved to approve the building permit, and the motion carried on a unanimous roll-call vote. The motion language found the application complete, in compliance with Rockville Land Use Code Chapter 8 and with the Rockville General Plan, and that the project does not conflict with the town’s rural residential character. The roll-call vote was recorded as Andy (aye), Tim (aye), Linda (aye), Ken (aye), Jane Brennan (aye).
