Caldwell-West Board approves curriculum, personnel, finance and policy items in unanimous votes

The Caldwell-West School District Board of Education met Aug. 11 in the Harrison School gymnasium and approved multiple consent items, including curriculum and technology proposals, personnel appointments and retirements, finance and facilities measures, and a first reading of a policy exhibit.
The board approved items under curriculum and technology (agenda items A–J), certificated and noncertificated personnel listings (certificated items A–L; noncertificated items A–D), finance (items A–I) and facilities (item A), and one policy item (first reading/exhibit). All recorded roll-call votes on those motions were unanimous, 4-0, with the four voting members recorded as yes.

Board Secretary Bridal took roll and read the items aloud before each roll-call vote. The meeting had a quorum of four voting members present and proceeded with the public agenda after an earlier executive session at 6 p.m.
The approvals move a set of routine and substantive personnel and operational matters forward; where policy exhibits (such as the Chromebook guidance) were presented as exhibits, the board clarified that exhibits do not automatically create binding policy and can be modified before final adoption.
The board will reconvene publicly for its September meetings; the business office confirmed scheduling adjustments with a public meeting set for Sept. 15 and an additional meeting on Sept. 8 published to the district calendar.
