The Caldwell-West School District Board of Education approved one curriculum item—identified in the meeting as an HIV curriculum item—by a unanimous voice vote during its Oct. 13 public conference meeting.
Superintendent Dr. Finari presented the recommendation as part of the curriculum and technology agenda items. A motion was made to approve “items a under curriculum and technology” and the board voted yes by voice with five voting members present.
Board members recorded as voting yes during the roll call on that motion were: Miss DeMartini; Miss Landolfi Jefferson; Miss Mac; Mister D'Ambola; and Miss Grosso. The board chair announced the motion carried 5-0.
The meeting materials list multiple curriculum and technology items, field trips and future out-of-district placements that the board will address at its next voting meeting on Oct. 27. The board’s Oct. 13 session was designated a public conference meeting; trustees noted that other listed items will be voted on at the next public voting meeting.
