The Titusville City Council unanimously approved a three-year economic development marketing and communications strategy presented by Marketing Alliance.
Consultant David Petter told the council the product is a 55-page strategic plan covering branding, messaging, public relations and social media for the city’s economic development office and includes wireframes for a department site hosted on the city’s CivicPlus platform.
Petter said the vendor has produced marketing toolkits for site selectors, workforce recruitment materials and industry pieces focused on aerospace, real estate and tourism. He said Marketing Alliance expects to allocate about $50,000 to a first-year digital campaign and recommended a competitive annual marketing budget in the roughly $80,000 range after the plan’s foundational year; he also said the firm used about $89,500 as a first-year number during the planning process.
Councilors asked where the activity would live online. Petter said the economic-development content would be a department experience on the CivicPlus city site with an optional custom URL that could be used in outreach.
The motion to approve the marketing, public relations and communications strategy passed on a unanimous roll call. Staff said they will return with implementation steps and any budget requests to match the plan’s recommended spending.
