She reported the special‑education population “currently makes up 11.3% of our population which is 59 students,” and said the school employs 38 teachers and 32 support staff.
Student achievement: On math, the school set a three‑year goal to improve proficiency by 5 percentage points; Mrs. Psaros said the school realized a 1.9 point increase in the first year. “Our overall math proficiency from 70.1% … we were setting a goal then for 3 years to be able to increase 5% overall. And in our first year we already have gone up 1.9,” she told the board. In English language arts, the school reported a year‑over‑year increase from 63.6% to 66% (a 2.4 point increase).
Spotlights and extracurriculars: Mrs. Psaros spotlighted a fourth‑grader, Logan Yang, who won the US Kids Golf Regional Championship in New Jersey, and highlighted the school’s recent mile run championships and other extracurricular activities.
Parent council grants and staff recognition: She reported 18 grant proposals from teachers and said “16 of the 18 were either fully or partially funded by our parent council,” noting the parent council extended itself beyond a $3,000 budget and granted $3,176.14 to teachers to support grade‑ or building‑level projects.
