The City Commission approved a staff-recommended special event permitting for West Orange High School’s annual homecoming parade, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 7 p.m. Streets will be closed beginning at 2 p.m. and the parade will stage in the southwest corner parking lot of East Plant Street and South Dillard.

Staff said the parade route will follow the same path used in prior years—west on Plant Street with turnaround at South Central—and that conditions will mirror past events. The commission approved the event subject to staff conditions and public-safety review.
