Proclamations: Mayor John Carley read proclamations declaring Oct. 25 as Community Planning Month and Cybersecurity Awareness Month in Vacaville. The proclamations highlighted planning's role in shaping housing, transportation and land use choices and urged residents and officials to support planning efforts. The cybersecurity proclamation noted the city's investments in network protections and 24/7 monitoring and encouraged residents to use strong passwords and multifactor authentication.
Museum report: Claire Dawson, executive director of the Vacaville Museum, presented the museum's FY 2024–25 annual report. She said the museum served just shy of 5,000 visitors across exhibits, programs and events; the museum's FY revenue (including city support, grants and earned income) totaled $238,133 for the last fiscal year. Dawson outlined an ambition to increase revenue by 35% in the coming year and highlighted recent exhibits, new staff and a revised mission statement.
