Commissioners approved an amended route for a scheduled event after a commissioner asked staff to note a small amendment to the original route map.
Parks or events staff told the commission the original plan would have routed the event up St. John’s to Eleventh Street, which raised concerns because Ninth Street is a state road. Staff presented an updated route that terminates at Ninth Street and uses the side streets (Sixth, Seventh and Eighth) down to Oak Street instead of continuing to Eleventh. The police chief described the route verbally for commissioners who could not see the map during the meeting.
Commissioner Jones asked for a clearer map; staff agreed to circulate the map after the meeting. The commission approved the amended map by voice vote with no opposition.
