Jackie, a member of the Auburn Washburn Board of Education, told fellow trustees she and her family have found a home outside the district and that she will vacate her seat early. "So I do need to vacate my seat a little bit early. I won't give you a my whole letter. I did send a letter to the board. That's that's on the official order of business. But, I do just wanna mention, my last meeting will be October 20," Jackie said.
The board unanimously accepted the resignation. During the meeting's action items the board voted to accept the resignation; the motion passed 7-0. After a later executive session, the board again moved to approve the resignation as discussed in executive session; that motion also passed 7-0.
Board members expressed appreciation for Jackie's service. The board did not record a specific timeline for filling the vacancy during the public portion of the meeting. The transcript shows the board treated the resignation as an official personnel matter handled through the normal agenda and executive-session processes.
