As Whitney had indicated, it's a little more than what the previous budget was due to added square footage and some changes in scope. But certainly, we were pleased with the participation that we got in the bid market, Received well over a 100 bids, so over 3 bids per per scope. You've seen these amendments in the past. So, in the interest of, brevity on game night, If there's any questions that you have for me, I'll answer those."
Josh also provided local participation figures: "We have 30 32 bid packages. Of those 13 bid packages had a Topeka bidder, and, of those, we're about 65% successful, with Topeka bidders." District staff said the intent is to begin site work as soon as practical: "The intent is to mobilize over Thanksgiving break, try to get ahead of the, winter weather and get foundations in before."
A facility committee member noted the committee reviewed the amendments and supported moving forward. The board did not list a recorded amendment to the motion; the motion as stated in the meeting was to approve the GMP of $5,659,700 and add the alternatives discussed. The vote on the motion was 7-0 in favor.
The approved GMP and alternatives follow bond-authorized work at Wanamaker and include changes in square footage and scope that the district said increased the cost relative to earlier estimates. District staff noted a competitive bidding environment and plans to mobilize work during the Thanksgiving break window to reduce winter-weather risk.
