Council approves corrections to Capital Metro pavement improvement change orders for FY22 project

The Manor City Council approved amendments correcting earlier change orders to the fiscal year 2022 Capital Metro pavement improvements project. Staff said the previously approved change order amounts did not change; the amendments correct an error in how amounts were transferred between change orders so the city can complete project closeout and request remaining reimbursement from Capital Metro.
Pauline Gray, the city engineer with GBA, explained staff discovered an administrative error when preparing closeout documents: amounts previously approved by council were correct, but the overall project totals carried forward from the first change order were transcribed incorrectly into subsequent change orders. The amendments to change order 2 and change order 3 correct those totals so the city can generate accurate closeout paperwork.
Gray said Capital Metro still owes the city over $1 million and the corrected paperwork is needed to process the reimbursement request. Both amendments passed on recorded votes of 6-0.
