The Dade City Commission on Sept. 23 adopted a final operating millage rate of 6.6208 mils for fiscal year 2025–26 and approved the city’s final budget for the same year.

City staff said the millage equals the rollback rate and that the Pasco County Property Appraiser certified the city’s gross taxable value for operating purposes as $812,425,095. The commission then voted 5–0 to approve Resolution No. 2025-29 setting the final millage rate.

Staff presented a final budget figure during the hearing and explained several advertised amounts in the meeting packet required correction. The city’s staff asked the commission to adopt a final budget in the amount of $62,604,192 for fiscal year 2025–26; the commission adopted the resolution by roll call vote, 5–0. City staff said the total of all funds had been lowered from an earlier advertised amount after multiple budget workshops.

The millage resolution and the budget are routine final actions following the required public hearings. City staff cited Florida Statute 200.065 as the statutory basis for the public-hearing process and recordkeeping for millage adoption.

The commission took no public comment on either item and conducted both votes by roll call. The city clerk recorded the roll-call votes and announced each approval as carried 5–0.

The budget adoption follows several advertised workshops and a correction to the version in the meeting book; staff said the corrected final figure is $62,604,192 and that the final adopted millage is a 0% increase from the rollback rate.

The commission did not change the millage or budget amounts during the hearing and provided no additional direction beyond adoption. The enacted budget and adopted millage take effect immediately under the resolutions.
