Teaneck Board of Education members met in person and via Zoom on Jan. 7 for the district's reorganization meeting and swore in newly elected trustees before selecting board leadership and voting on a set of administrative items.
Dr. Victor Anaya, the board secretary, opened the meeting and administered the oaths of office to the newly elected trustees, including Jennifer Levy and Jonathan Rodriguez. "I especially want to thank my mom... my wonderful husband, Shayan, my kids," Trustee Jennifer Levy said during brief remarks after being sworn in.
The board then held nominations and roll-call votes for the 2025 officers. After two rounds of nominations and votes, members elected Ed Hoff as board president and Cassandra (Cassandra/Tassandra) Reyes as vice president. The president-elect addressed the meeting, saying, "I am truly humbled by this responsibility," and laid out priorities including healing, engagement, improving meetings and pursuing a bond referendum.
