The Audit and Finance Committee met in closed session Oct. 15 to consider candidates for appointments to three retirement-system boards and, on returning to open session, unanimously recommended three candidates to the full City Council.
The committee entered executive session pursuant to Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code (personnel matters) to discuss appointments to the Austin Police Retirement System Board, the Austin Firefighters Retirement Fund Board of Trustees and the City of Austin Employees Retirement System Board. On returning from closed session, the committee announced its recommendations.
Vice Chair Alter moved that the committee recommend the reappointment of Dr. Michael Granoff to the Austin Police Retirement System Board; Councilmember Veil seconded, and the recommendation was approved without objection. Councilmember Burduchian moved that Gia Lee be recommended to the full council for appointment to the Austin Firefighters Retirement Fund Board of Trustees; Vice Chair Alter seconded and the committee approved the recommendation without objection. Vice Chair Alter moved that **** Levine be recommended for reappointment to the City of Austin Employees Retirement System Board; Councilmember Duchin seconded, and the committee approved that recommendation without objection.
Committee members noted the mayor pro tem was temporarily off the dais during the votes. The recommendations will be forwarded to the full City Council for final action.
