Planning staff offers urban growth boundary update and school attendance-boundary assistance; conveys traffic striping request

Planning staff informed the commission that no public hearings are currently scheduled for the Nov. 13 meeting but offered to present updates on the city’s urban growth boundary work and housing-compliance planning that have been before City Council.
Staff said they can prepare a November agenda item that will include an urban growth boundary update and information on housing starts and permits in the pipeline for the next three to five years. Staff also reported they are assisting the school district with a school attendance‑boundary study and are collecting data to support that effort.
Separately, a commissioner asked staff to convey a resident request to the traffic-safety group for centerline striping on Second and Third streets near Everest and 219, noting worn striping and driver confusion where cars park on both sides. Staff said they would forward the request to the Traffic Safety Commission and would check whether ODOT’s urban design verification study or upcoming curb-ramp work downtown is related.
Staff said ODOT is scheduled to begin curb-ramp work at the end of the month and that the city will share information with the public about that project.
