Placer County supervisors voted 5-0 on Oct. 14 to approve a five-year, $9,683,755.71 agreement with Axon Enterprise Inc. to replace the county's current digital-evidence systems and expand body-worn camera, in-car video and Taser deployment across county law enforcement.
The contract covers 500 body-worn cameras, 132 in-car cameras, 400 tasers, the Axon Evidence cloud platform and associated storage and software, the sheriff's office said. The first-year payment is $1,838,770.46; the county approved a $1,000,000 budget amendment to cover initial costs out of the public safety fund.
