City planning staff told the Hollywood City Planning and Development Board that the City Commission recently approved two developments the board had previously reviewed: Hillcrest and the Bridal House project on State Road 7.
Planner Ersha Modi said the board had forwarded recommendations and conditions for Hillcrest, but the commission ultimately approved the original design. Modi said the Bridal House project — which included rezoning to planned development, a master plan and historic preservation elements for an on‑site farmhouse — was also approved by the commission.
Modi asked board members to check their availability for the board’s November meeting, which staff intends to keep on November 10 despite email requests to change the date. She noted a practical issue: the City Commission memo (CC memo) for the board's recommendations is due shortly after the board meeting and, in this calendar year, falls on Veterans Day, a public holiday. "We are continuing it as it is on the tenth," Modi said, and staff will email the proposed calendar to members and coordinate with the city clerk to identify any conflicts.
Modi added that the last two development review committee meetings had been uneventful and that staff will coordinate future calendar changes with the Historic Preservation Board if needed. No formal board action was taken on the staff updates or the calendar during the meeting.
