- Harbor Island coal yard: Council awarded a not-to-exceed $673,303.10 contract to TL Contracting Inc. for the Harbor Island coal-yard closure project, following HDR bid review and an EGLE-approved revised removal plan. - New event approval: Council approved a request to allow the inaugural Christ is King Festival on Aug. 23, 2025, to use the waterfront area and Waterfront Stadium and authorized up to a $500 discount under the city’s special-event policy. Motion by McLaughlin; second by Fritz. Vote: unanimous of members present.
- Closed session: Council voted to enter closed session to discuss labor negotiations pursuant to the Open Meetings Act (cited by council as the authority for the closed-session item). Motion by McLaughlin; second by Fritz. Roll call vote: unanimous of members present.
Several items were presented for informational purposes only, including the Coast Guard Festival schedule and a student Future Prep presentation; those items did not require council votes. The short-term rental fee schedule was presented as a first draft and will be discussed again at an April budget work session.
