Commission presses Lindsay Park Yacht Club for club financials as marina repair proceeds under emergency clause

The Davenport Riverfront Commission said it has received recent financial records for the marina operation but not the separate financial statements for the Lindsay Park Yacht Club (the club itself). Commissioners said the separate club financials were part of an agreed package of information and remain outstanding.
City staff reported progress gathering records and said the city and the commission are trying to understand the interrelationship between the marina management account (managed under a separate EIN) and the yacht club's club account. Commissioners said transparency was the goal: staff and commissioners want to know how funds collected from leased slips and other marina operations have been administered and whether those funds were allocated appropriately between entities that use city property.
Separately, staff told the commission the yacht club has exercised an emergency clause to address deteriorated docks. Staff said the condition of Dock 8 (also referenced as a key structure) has deteriorated to the point that the club believed it could no longer remain insured; the club invoked the emergency clause to replace or repair affected dock sections so insurance coverage could continue.
The commission said any larger, multimillion-dollar dock or marina project remains on hold until the city and commission have a fuller understanding of past financial management. Staff said it is continuing to request the missing club financials and to clarify who manages the marine account and how those funds have been used.
