Licensing shift and NextRequest platform cut Glynn County open-records turnaround to 2.5 days

Glynn County licensing and compliance staff said the county has processed 4,173 public-record requests so far this year and now averages about 2.5 days to close requests after adopting the NextRequest records-management platform.
Christie Kinstle said Georgia law requires an initial response within three days, but Glynn County’s average to close requests is currently 2.5 days. She described the previous process as manual and inconsistent and said transitioning to NextRequest has enabled better tracking, reporting and billing.
Kinstle said open-records billing rose after the platform adoption, from prior annual revenues of roughly $1,200 to about $12,000 year-to-date, because consistent tracking enabled the county to bill more reliably for records searches and duplication fees.
"The open records, before Christy's team took over, it kind of hopped from place to place to place and didn't really have a home...We have implemented this system that we're on now called Next Request. It gives us performance results," Munson said.
