Upper Dublin staff presented a recommended AP European history textbook for committee consideration May 7 and asked that the item be forwarded to the legislative meeting for approval.
Presenters said the recommended title aligns with the new AP standards and is more student‑friendly and less dense than alternatives, while retaining AP‑level rigor. The package includes 60 student textbooks with digital licenses, a teacher edition and online teacher resources. Staff estimated the cost at approximately $9,600.
Committee members noted that the textbook now includes digital licenses as part of the package and asked for professional development time for the teacher to explore and integrate the platform into instruction. Staff said PD will be scheduled during the school year if the legislative body approves the purchase.
