Accessory Apartment Review Board approves 37 renewal affidavits

The Accessory Apartment Review Board for the Town of Babylon on Aug. 19, 2025 approved 37 renewal-by-affidavit applications for accessory apartments across several Long Island hamlets, the board recorded.

The approvals were presented by staff and considered in a single consent-like series of motions. The board did not debate the individual applications at length; for each application a board member moved approval, another seconded, and the board chair or presiding member asked, “All in favor?” The meeting record shows the response “Aye” for each item. Board members deferred action on minutes and said they would “talk about the reserves afterwards, but we’re not going to do anything tonight.”
