Roscoe — The Roscoe Village Board on Nov. 19 adopted Ordinance 2024-12 to annex two contiguous parcels located at 13013 Thousand and 19 North Second Street into village limits and designate them light industrial.
A board member explained the property sits adjacent to the waste-management transfer station and currently lies outside the village limits. The applicant intends to combine the two parcels, build storage/warehouse space and operate an indoor inflatable-rental business; the speaker said no special uses or variances were requested in the application.
The board first voted to suspend the rules to advance the annexation request and then proceeded to a vote on first reading and adoption. Board discussion included confirmation that the purchaser’s property purchase and zoning clearance were pending, and that the applicant had been informed of that possibility. A trustee asked why the board was asked to expedite; staff replied the property purchase is pending zoning clearance and the applicant requested the expedited timeline.
The ordinance was adopted by the board. The transcript records affirmative roll-call responses from several trustees during the vote.
Ending: Planning staff will process the parcel combination and any subsequent site-plan materials when they are submitted to the Community Development/Business Affairs committee for review.
