The Zoning Board of Appeals approved design review for a four-unit multifamily building at Lot 031 in the Mallett Farm subdivision on Nov. 13.
Staff recommended approval, saying the proposed 5,354-square-foot structure fits with other multifamily buildings in the area and meets applicable bulk requirements. The building is described as "flat-over-flat" construction with navy-blue vinyl siding and black shingles. The project will include driveways, landscaping and a revised building placement to accommodate utility laterals and the required driveway configuration.
An applicant representative, identified as working with Ambassador Homes, said the design is a custom plan for a narrow lot and that the team coordinated with village staff and engineering to resolve driveway and utility issues. He said the project includes four units—two three-bedroom, two two-bedroom layouts—and no basements; garages will be beneath the units with side entries.
Board members asked about lot lines, hookups, and driveway layout. Staff said the development team worked with zoning and engineering to arrive at the submitted plans and that final site work and connections will be addressed through normal permitting.
The board voted to approve the design review in a roll-call vote.
