Roscoe zoning board approves annexation and R‑1 rezoning for 65‑acre parcel after public objections

The Roscoe Zoning Board of Appeals approved an annexation and map amendment to rezone a 65‑acre parcel from Urban Transition (UT) to R‑1 single‑family residential, after a public hearing in which nearby residents urged the board to delay action and sought written guarantees limiting development.

The board’s action concerned CBA‑2025‑006, a petition by the Twigg family to annex and rezone the parcel commonly described in the hearing materials as being accessed from Sheringham Drive. Casey Chadwick, the applicant’s attorney, told the board the Twiggs intend to build a single family home and “there’s no 0 plans to do anything other than 1 single family home.”

Residents who live in the adjacent Remington Creek subdivision and other nearby streets urged the board not to approve the rezoning at this meeting.
