Trustees of the Village of Roscoe nominated and approved Mike Craig as chair of the Committee of the Whole on May 20, 2025. Trustees moved and seconded the nomination and conducted a roll call vote that approved the nomination.
The nomination followed a brief review of the chairperson’s duties. Attorney Green described the role as a committee member appointed to manage discussion, recognize speakers, entertain motions and seconds, and call for votes in the committee setting, performing duties similar to those at full board meetings. Trustees emphasized that the chair coordinates with the village clerk and village administrator for agenda preparation and noticing under the Open Meetings Act.
A motion to nominate Mike Craig was made by Trustee Proger and seconded by Trustee Mead. The trustees completed a roll call and the motion passed. After the vote, Mike Craig agreed to assume the chair duties for the remainder of the meeting.
The committee left implementation steps — including how the chair will coordinate agenda preparation with the clerk and village administrator — as part of regular administrative practice rather than creating new procedures.
