Committee approves Louis Palooza special-event permit for August at Louie Taphouse

The Committee of the Whole recommended approval of a special-event permit for Louis Palooza, to be held Aug. 9, 2025, at Louie Taphouse, 5689 Elevator Road. Organizers described a layout that includes a stage, two fenced beer-garden areas, food tents, porta-potties (one ADA-accessible unit) and use of adjacent strip-mall parking for event overflow. The event hours are listed as noon to 10:30 p.m.

Organizers and staff discussed traffic flow and whether to require paid traffic-control personnel for the intersection of Second Street and Elevator Road at the end of the event. Organizers said they will provide private security and volunteers and would coordinate parking at the church across Raider Road for staff/volunteer vehicles. The first band is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m., with hourly bands and short breaks for changeover.

The committee approved forwarding the permit to the Board with a positive recommendation following a motion and second; the roll call recorded affirmative votes. Staff will confirm final details on traffic control and security prior to the event.
