At its Oct. 7 meeting, the Beverly Planning Board voted unanimously to approve amended minutes for the Aug. 19, 2025 and Sept. 16, 2025 meetings after members proposed scrivener corrections and asked for one substantive clarification.
Planning Board member Flannery moved to accept the Aug. 19 minutes as amended; the motion was seconded by Planning Board member Miller and carried unanimously. Board members described most suggested changes as scrivener edits: spelling, punctuation, expanding abbreviated titles, and correcting a name ("Beckwith," not "Benevento"). One substantive clarification requested for the Aug. 19 minutes was that the record include a description of a specific request referenced on page 15, line 632. During discussion members identified that the missing description related to a Mystic Griffin item involving the addition of a lift to Precisek Street and a separate request from a woman asking for fencing; members agreed those details should be added to the minutes.
Flannery then moved to approve the Sept. 16 minutes as amended; Miller seconded. The board again voted unanimously in the affirmative.
Members also noted minor technical and procedural items related to meeting records: a board member asked for improved microphone procedures so speakers' remarks are captured more clearly, and the board thanked BevCam for recording the meeting. Chair Derek Beckwith described the Oct. 7 meeting as unusually brief.
The approved minutes will be updated to reflect the agreed scrivener edits and the clarified description for the Aug. 19 item.
