School committee approves Central High overnight trip to Cape Cod invitational

The Springfield School Committee voted Thursday to approve Central High School's overnight field trip to the M.T. MSTCA Bob Glennon Twilight Invitational in East Falmouth, Massachusetts, on Oct. 12–13, 2025.

Superintendent (name not specified) introduced the request and said Central staff would provide responsible adult chaperones for the teams attending the event, which will be held at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds. Catherine Hackinson Stacy participated remotely as a representative and was thanked by the committee for being available.

The motion to approve was made by Mister Gonzales and seconded by Attorney Murphy. The roll call vote recorded: Gonzales — yes; Attorney Murphy — yes; Collins — yes; Gresham — yes; Hurst — yes; Bruno Naylor — yes. Mayor Sarno was absent. The motion carried with a majority present.
