Board members discussed holiday decorations, electrical inspections and planter plantings as part of regular maintenance and long‑term streetscape planning.
A maintenance presenter said the street department is checking electrical service at streetlight poles ahead of the holiday season and that she will solicit bids from three companies for any needed electrical repairs; she asked the board to authorize an email vote to approve a vendor once bids are in. A board member said no formal motion is required for an email vote unless someone objects; no objection was recorded during the meeting.
The board confirmed decorations will again include wreaths, bows and snowflakes and that Parks staff and student volunteers (including Key Club) will help inspect and prepare decorations at the M Street Building. The BID will obtain bids to make electrical repairs and seek board approval by email if needed.
Members also reviewed planter performance for the season and discussed trying different plant selections in shallow planters and underused tree wells next year. The BID’s design and planning group has met with staff and will present more information about pattern‑book guidance and longer‑term planting strategies at a future meeting.
