Eversource told the Select Board Oct. 14 it seeks a grant of location to install about 36 feet of conduit under Brookline Street to provide electrical service to a new home at 235 Brookline Street. Joanne Callender, the Eversource representative on the call, described the work as a short conduit installation to extend service to the new residence and said the work is standard for single-family service connections.
The Select Board asked whether the town pays for the conduit work; staff confirmed that the town will not pay — installation costs for service drops are typically the responsibility of the homeowner or developer. The board voted to approve and sign the Eversource petition to install the conduit; the motion passed unanimously.
