Sugar Land budgets $1 monthly disaster fee to build debris reserves as Republic contract rises to 5%

Katie Clayton, the city’s director of utilities who also presented the solid‑waste section, said a $1 monthly fee would generate about $420,000 a year for the solid‑waste reserve and be dedicated for debris response. "At $1 a month for our residential customers, that's equivalent to an additional $420,000 per year into the reserves," Clayton said.
