Commissioners reviewed building maintenance items, including a corroded meeting-room door and a persistent parking-lot drainage problem.
Members reported that the door for one meeting room has been identified for replacement and that the fire chief and city inspector have been involved in assessing the issue. Staff said the replacement door is on back order and that public-works staff have measured the opening and are handling the procurement, but a delivery date was not confirmed at the meeting. Commissioners asked staff to follow up on timing and replacement schedule.
The commission also discussed a low spot in the parking lot that fills after heavy rain and locally is called "Lake Bob Chisholm." Staff reported that the depression typically consumes about one and a half to two parking spaces in the corner of the lot and that city staff, including Public Works, are gathering numbers and considering permanent solutions. City Manager Spencer said he prefers a long-term fix rather than short-term patchwork and staff have floated options such as a French drain or piped solution; those options are still under review and cost estimates are being collected.
Ending: Commissioners asked staff to continue coordinating with Public Works and the city manager and to report progress and cost estimates back to the commission.
