Council approves gas-line extension for Foxton driving-range heaters

Council approved Ordinance 2025-176 authorizing the mayor to enter into a contract with Enbridge Gas Ohio (East Ohio Gas Company) to install a gas-line extension to the Foxton Golf Course driving range to enable installation of driving-range heaters.

Parks and operations staff said the course crossed $2 million in revenue earlier in September and that demand at the range has increased; staff described the extension as a revenue-generating investment that would allow the range to operate more effectively in colder months. The administration said work includes a one-time upfront deposit to Enbridge and that some equipment adjustments (conversion from propane to natural gas) can be made in-house.

Council moved the ordinance on a suspended‑rules adoption and approved it in the same meeting. Staff said the timeline for work depends on the utility’s schedule; once the city signs the contract and provides the initial invoice payment, Enbridge will schedule the extension.
